-Ellen J. Van Loo, Walid Alali, and Steven C. Ricke. "Food Safety and Organic Meats" talks about the United States and how much it has grown in the past ten years or so with non-conventional food products or "organic meats". The article demonstrates how Americans are blinded by what's really going on with specialized foods. The authors talk about how unaware we are of USDA (United States Department of Agriculture) standards, and how they are based on the production of food and not the actual food's health-factor. The article demonstrates published results on the microbiological safety of organic meats showing us the actual truth about certain organic food standards.
"Organic." Merriam-Webster. Merriam-Webster, 2012. Web. 18 Apr. 2012.
-Meriam-Webster. "Organic" talks about the different ways in which organic is defined. It gives five different examples as to how the word "organic" could be interpreted and defined. This is reliable because this is a dictionary and it gives a list of all definitions that they have on hand instead of just one general definition. This source proves to be non-biased because it shows all signs of the definition. We plan to use the definition to make our argument stronger by specifically pinpointing the definition of organic to better explain what exactly organic is and how it applies to food.

-Mike Duff. “Organic Meat” is a short journal article by author Mike Duff about the rising popularity of organic meats. This is a reliable non-biased article because it is simply stating a commonly known fact. Organic food is on the rise, this is quite obvious in todays society, our group just wanted a cited source to back up what we knew as truth. By having this common fact cited we are able to further our research by using the information as a template to expand upon.

-John Monahan. “Biofuels send organic meat prices soaring” is an article by John Monahan about the rising cost of organics as land decreases. This is a reliable source because it is stating documented facts quoted by other farmers. The cited facts are quoted with percents and costs, each fluctuating as it pertains to the person speaking. With this information our group was able to back up certain findings (what grains organic livestock eat) in our research with cited sources, making our arguments stronger.
"Denny Coolen: Nutritionist." Personal interview. 18 Apr. 2012.
-John’s brother, Denny Coolen, was the interviewee of the organic meat interview. John asked him questions, and although Denny is his brother, the interview can still be considered reliable because his knowledge of organic meats, and nutrition, was attained from a University and also because the questions asked did not favor one subject over the other (organic versus non-organic). The information Denny supplied is quite valuable in furthering/strengthening our research because it relates to the specific topic we have chosen. Since Denny was nutrition major, he was able to relay scholarly information, since

- This article deals with the increase in organic meat purchases. The article includes statistics involving the difference in dollar amount between years of how much more was spent on organic meat. The author, Stuart A. Hirsch, also quotes Katherine DiMatteo who is the executive director of the Organic Trade Association. We can then consider this article to be reliable because the author is not only using "known" facts, but includes statistics and a personal interview. We can consider this to be not biased because the author is merely restating factual evidence of the increase of organic meat purchases along with addressing the question of what organic meat is.
Nierenberg, Danielle. Happier Meals: Rethinking the Global Meat Industry. Ed. Lisa Mastny.
Worldwatch Institute, 2005.Print.
-Happier Meals talks about the meat industry including factory farms, some organic references, disease, and references what happens with meat in different countries. The book was published in 2005 which is fairly recent, and is reliable because the book contains facts and other charts involving meat. The book is not an argument but is merely making people question meat.
